Consulting / Operational Improvement
Fix the system, not the symptom.
Process redesign and operational excellence: mapping how work actually flows, where decisions stall, and what to change first.
The problemWhy this keeps hurting
When the same problems keep resurfacing (rework, firefighting, bottlenecks, deadlines that slip the same way every time), the cause is rarely effort or talent. It is the system: processes that exist on paper but not in practice, knowledge that lives in two people's heads, and decisions that stall because nobody owns them. Fixing symptoms one at a time just schedules the next fire.
Who it's forDoes this sound like your organisation?
Growing businesses whose processes haven't kept up with their size. Operations leaders staring at a recurring bottleneck. Teams where everything critical depends on the same one or two people, and everyone knows it.
How we workObserve · Decode · Redesign · Install
Observe
Discovery. We watch how work actually flows, on the floor and in the inbox, not how the procedure document says it flows.
Decode
Diagnosis. Root-cause analysis of where value stalls: the handoffs, the unowned decisions, the informal workarounds carrying the real process.
Redesign
Design. Redesigned processes with clear owners, standards and escalation paths, built with the people who run them, so they survive contact with reality.
Install
Implementation. We implement alongside your team and keep measuring until the new way of working is the default: evidence, not a slide deck.
What you getDeliverables, not decks
- A current-state map of how work really flows, usually revealing a process nobody knew they had
- Root-cause diagnosis of your recurring bottlenecks, with the two or three changes that matter most
- Redesigned processes with owners, standards and escalation paths
- Implementation support and before/after measures: improvement you can point to
Engagement shapeHow it typically runs
Typically 1–2 weeks. Process walk-throughs, data review, and a diagnosis you can act on immediately.
Typically 2–4 weeks. Redesign workshops with the people who run the process, standards and ownership agreed.
Scaled to the change. Coaching the new process in, measuring, adjusting until it holds without us.
Durations are indicative and agreed per engagement. Pricing is discussed once we both understand the problem: no rate card theatre.
QuestionsAsked honestly, answered honestly
Is this Lean / Six Sigma?
It is informed by that discipline (value streams, root cause, standard work) without the ceremony. We use what moves your numbers, and skip the belt theatre.
Will we just get a report?
No. The engagement includes implementation: we stay while the redesigned process beds in, and we measure it against the baseline we captured in discovery.
How much of our people’s time will this take?
Discovery is deliberately light: observation over workshops. Redesign involves the people who own the process, because processes designed without them don’t survive.
Are you on-site or remote?
Based in Western Australia; we work on-site where the work is physical and remotely where it isn’t. Most engagements mix both.
Organisations that want their processes, decisions and knowledge to stay visible after the engagement often pair this work with AFOS, our organisational reasoning system, in development and open for pilot discussions.
